Are you making renovations in the room of your child and are not aware of which color to choose for the walls? Well, it is good that you are thinking about that because the tone of the room may influence your child’s state of mind. We have prepared a very interesting article on what colors are not preferable to use for a children’s room – are you interested? Then keep on reading!
1. Cool Gray
Gray has a lot of tones, but the one you do not wish in your room is the cool one. This color would add a more formal appearance to your children’s bedroom and would look rather like a laboratory. Your accommodation is supposed to be warm and cozy, however, the cool gray, as well as all the other cool colors, would not do that for you. The kid would feel uncomfortable, and only a huge number of posters and furniture that would hide the walls would save the situation. However, if you choose the warm gray, it would have a better effect on your kid. Still, there are many other amazing colors, and gray is not the most cheerful one of them.
2. Bright Red
Bright colors will make your kid go crazy after 30 minutes spent in the room. Bright red, just like any bright tone, is too intense and too stimulating for the accommodation. Your eyes will be tired immediately even if you are not looking directly at the walls – imagine how your kid will feel! Instead, we recommend you to consider burgundy or maroon tones – though quite dark, these colors are warm and will add coziness to the room. The red tone, in general, is considered stimulating and exciting that is why if you choose the accurate undertone, you will create the perfect atmosphere for your child to be active in studies and leisure time. But remember – your child would never be able to relax and sleep well in the bright red walls.
3. Bold Orange
In fact, orange is a good choice for the walls of the child’s room because it is a mood-lifting color. However, if you choose the bold orange, you might regret about it because if your kid is naturally energetic, this color would only overstimulate him/her. Especially if your kid suffers from attention deficit hyperactive disorder or any other health concern, which can lead to easy overstimulation, the bold orange is simply forbidden for you. What tone you should consider is the warm light orange – this is the best choice for every child. If it is a big problem for you to concentrate on the academic assignments you are overloaded with, try these out and spend your free time the way you wish.
4. Dark Blue
Associated with the sky and sea, blue is considered a good choice for both the office and the sleeping room. However, if you select the dark blue, you will make the bedroom somber. The kid will not be active and energetic, and the reason for that will be the choice of the tone. Instead, consider the blue color with gray base – it will result in the warmer tone and will have a relaxing and calming effect on the kid’s bedroom decor. The child will be sleeping well if the walls are light blue and will not be distracted during his/her studies. The statistics show that people are most productive in the blue environment in particular.
5. Yellow
In spite of the fact that yellow stands for happiness and cheerfulness, the room decor may suffer if you choose the bright tone of it. Your kid may have an agitation and even anger if s/he stays in the room where the walls are bright yellow. Consider the light tones though – they would influence the kid’s concentration and motivation positively and increase memory. The eyes of your kid may become tired too fast because bright yellow is a quite intense color.
As seen from the article above, what the kid’s bedroom’s walls look like directly influences his/her mood and energy. It is very important to select the accurate tone for the bedroom because it has to be a perfect place for both sleeping and studying.
